Everything Grows, Anything Goes
Dunmore Gallery Toowoomba (DMGT) is calling for entries from local artists for the upcoming group exhibition Everything Grows; Anything Goes. Scheduled for Friday 31st May 2019, the exhibition will present works responding to plants, trees, flowers and the concept of growth and what that looks like moving forward into an uncertain global climate. Everything Grows; Anything Goes will be inclusive of diverse creative styles and practices, not limited by any medium or creative practice. Dunmore Gallery will accept works not often displayed in gallery spaces. Artists, makers and growers may either submit traditional works (conceptually or literally responding to the theme), or “non-art” objects - anything goes!
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Deadline to submit entries (email to email@example.com) is Wednesday 22nd May 2019 at midnight. Applications must include a statement about the work or object, artist social media handle and / or website (if applicable) and at least 3 high quality images of the piece (or previous indicative piece/s). Please label the images as either finished, work-in-progress or indicative.
Artists / makers / growers will be informed of the outcome of their entries by Friday the 24th May 2019.
The acceptance of submitted works and objects will be on the basis of quality, diversity and adherence to the theme. Works submitted earlier may be given preference for inclusion. The selection will be at the discretion of the Gallery Director. There is no limitation on the size of pieces submitted, however the gallery space is limited and the exhibition as a whole will be considered. Works may be in any medium, however should ideally respond to the theme - plants, trees, flowers and the notion of growth and moving forward.
2D works must be ready to hang (either framed, or on stretched canvas / panel / board) with D hooks and wire or components able to be hung on our gallery hook system (contact the gallery if unsure on this). 3D works / objects must be free-standing and / or come with a plinth approved by DMGT (For confirmation of plinth standard please contact the gallery). Digital works must come with a method of display (e.g. television, Ipad, projector) approved by DMGT.
There is no entry fee. Works must be for sale. DMGT takes 30% commission on sold works.
Deadline for delivery of finished works to DMGT is Thursday 30th May before 12pm or prior by appointment. Failure to deliver by this date may result in your work being excluded.
Each piece must have the following information provided: Artist name; Work / object title; year of creation; medium; dimensions.
Exhibition duration will be 31 May - Sat 21st June 2019 (Opening 31st May 6-9pm) with opening hours as advised on website
, or by extension if artists are able to volunteer to man the space. No works may be taken before the closure of Everything Grows; Anything Goes. Works must then be retrieved within two weeks post exhibition closing date, by appointment or during opening hrs.
